How does the sauna work?
Infrared therapy heats your body with far-infrared heat. Tradition saunas heat the air while you sit in a very hot and steamy room. The gentle infrared heat raises your core body temperature and stimulates your metabolism, lymphatic system, your immune system, and cardiovascular system. Your body’s response is to sweat. This sweat has been proven to consist of approximately 80% water and 20% toxins including heavy metals. The sweat of an individual using a traditional sauna has shown to consist of approximately 97% water and only 3% toxins.
Is it safe?
Yes, Infrared heat is both safe and enjoyable. You won’t be walking out feeling hot and bothered, you will be feeling fresh and rejuvenated.
Is it clean?
Our saunas are sanitised after every use. Be assured your sauna will be in ‘as new’ condition each and every time you step in. In addition, Infrared light kills bacteria and airborne germs.
Is it like a regular sauna, I get so hot and can’t breathe?
Not at all, traditional saunas heat the air around you making you feel extremely hot and often unwell. Using a Sunlighten sauna you will raise your core body temperature rather than the surrounding air. This makes your sessions comfortable and relaxing allowing you to enjoy your session while experiencing all the health benefits.
Should I seek medical advice prior to my session?
There are several chronic conditions that require medical clearance prior to use. If you are unsure, speak to your GP or call Jayney for further information.
What do I wear in the sauna?

You can either wear swimmers or underwear in the sauna. You are not welcome to use the sauna naked, we ask for your respect and co-operation for the comfort of all sauna users. You will be in a private room alone or with a person of your choosing.

How should I prepare for my infrared sauna experience?

You will sweat, so the more hydrated you are when you arrive, the better. You must also ensure to rehydrate post-session. Avoid alcohol for 24 hours prior to the session. Water/coconut water are available for purchase or please feel free to bring your own.

Can children use the infrared sauna?
In general, children above the age of 12 can use the infrared sauna for a brief session, however, all children under 18 require clearance from their GP to ensure suitability. Prepubescent children are unable to effectively thermoregulate and therefore infrared therapy is unsuitable for them.

Services Massage Healing myself and practising the best in self-care has contributed to my deep passion to create a divine space for others to do the same in an affordable and sustainable way.

Working as a paramedic for over a decade, I have seen the full spectrum of the mental and physical burden, both in patients and colleagues. I have experienced first-hand the profound effects of fatigue and stress and the impacts they have on the body.

It has become my mission to help others heal themselves, and maintain optimal health and function. I truly appreciate how short life is, but how long the days can feel when we are suffering the effects of asking too much from our mind and bodies and not giving enough back.
